Simon Ganet Obituary Chicago, IL Death: Community Mourn

Family, friends, and loved ones across the Chicago area are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Simon Ganet, who passed away after a courageous 2.5-year battle with leukemia. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, especially his twin brother Elliot, who described Simon as not only his sibling but also his best friend and lifelong companion.

 

Simon Ganet is being remembered as a kindhearted, joyful, and deeply loved individual whose strength and spirit inspired everyone around him throughout his difficult battle with cancer. Those closest to him describe Simon as someone who embraced life with warmth, humor, creativity, and love for the people closest to him. He had a passion for curling, dancing, baking, and spending meaningful time with loved ones, especially with Annie Hoesly and his family.

In a deeply emotional tribute, Elliot reflected on the unique and inseparable bond he shared with Simon as twins. He shared that they looked alike, sounded alike, and understood one another in a way only twins could. Their connection was one built on lifelong friendship, love, and unwavering support through every chapter of life.

Throughout Simon’s long fight with leukemia, family and friends continued to surround him with prayers, encouragement, and love. Following his passing, loved ones have expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown during such a heartbreaking time. A memorial service honoring Simon Ganet’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at Congregation Etz Chaim at 2 p.m. Shiva gatherings for family and friends will also be held in Glen Ellyn and Oak Park, offering loved ones an opportunity to come together in remembrance, support, and healing.

As the community mourns Simon’s passing, many continue to celebrate the life he lived and the love he shared so freely. His courage during his battle with leukemia, his joyful personality, and the deep connections he built with others will never be forgotten.
